After our weekend in Germany, we took the road to England towards the superb Brands Hatch track.🇬🇧
Arriving late Thursday morning, the sky is gray and autumn is felt. 🍁🌫
Installed, some finishing touches on our sidecar and we are ready to compete in this final.💪🏻
Friday morning, the weather is good but the weather has its whims.☁️🌧🌦
We leave for the free practice session in the rain. We do a few laps, the settings are good but knowing that the weather was supposed to be good all weekend, we don’t push any further.
Late afternoon, between showers and sunshine, we are lucky and we qualify on a dry track in pole position.☝🏻
Two or three small things to adjust to improve the stability of the sidecar and you’re done.👌🏻😁
During the night from Friday to Saturday, it rains and temperatures drop below 10 degrees.🥶
We take advantage of Saturday to clean and check our car. 🧽🧼🔧⚙️
Unfortunately, due to the very turbulent weather, there is a delay.
The race is announced at 5:15 p.m., the track is still wet under the woods but the rest is dry.
Let’s go for 10 laps. We are in second position behind Blackstock/Rosney at the first corner.
We do a few laps behind them then manage to pass them on the inside in one of the left turns.
We pick up the pace while being thoughtful because an exit can quickly happen on a wet track with slick tires.💨
We cross the checkerboard first and secure some points for the Championship. The second race will decide the winner.🤗
Sunday morning, it’s more than cold, 5 degrees when you wake up.🥶🥶
The sky is blue, the track is dry, we’ll have to warm up the rubber.🔥
11:40 a.m., the final round of the Championship begins and we complete our first lap behind crews 95 and 91.
We are gradually moving back into the lead and trying to intensify the pace and this time almost at full speed 😂
We cross this last finish line as winners and British Champions for the second year in a row.🥇🏆
